Almost fifteen years ago Jim Yang walked into the renowned Church Street Boxing Club in New York City and found boxing.
His addiction to the sport was immediate and over the years he has honed his craft both as a fighter and as an instructor.
His early years of training alongside Cuban, Mexican and Puerto Rican fighters have given Jim a strong appreciation for the development of fundamental skills and mastery of body mechanics. Jim specializes in one on one technical sessions and has a knack for correcting footwork and punch mechanics. He is able to quickly move students through progressions that start with simple drills and end with complex combinations of advanced offensive and defensive skills.
Jim travels frequently to train in some of the top gyms in the US including Art of Boxing in Atlanta, Church Street in NYC, King's in Oakland and Maple Ave. in Dallas, developing his own skills as well as picking up new training methods and techniques.
Jim is available for one on one instruction and is always happy share the tips and tricks that he's picked up over the years. He loves meeting new people, so if you see him training please walk up and introduce yourself.
